About Kara

Kara Lenore is the author of Beneath a Sun Deprived Sky, a Publishers Weekly BookLife Editor’s Pick.

“Climbing,” a short story published under Kara Stockinger, appeared in the Mixed Bag of Tricks anthology.

Her manuscript Thia’s Key was a finalist in the Writers’ League of Texas 2025 Manuscript Contest.

Kara is an alumna of the Viable Paradise Workshop and a member of the Writers' League of Texas. 

She spent part of her youth living in Japan and earned a doctorate in Japanese studies, experiences which influence her work. She now resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband, two children, and spoiled tuxedo cat, working in the tech industry and escaping to sci-fi and fantasy worlds whenever she can.
